Couch Addition Project
|
The owners wanted to maintain above all the farmhouse look of their 1891 home.
The front porch, an obvious addition, was being used as a meeting place for their business, but was too small and interrupted by the traffic flow of the entry.
The angled side setback limited how far the addition could project forward, yet we were still able to increase the first floor space by 60%.
The entry, moved to the side, put the walk path much closer to the side driveway and improved the flow inside, maximizing the useable space.
They also wanted a covered porch, which helped tie everything together. Upstairs an additional bedroom was added as well as a walk-in closet for an existing bedroom.
