1. Plans bought from magazines, internet, or plan books are not drawn to meet the building codes and minimum plan requirements in our area.

We guarantee our designs meet the current codes.

2. The foundation plans may show construction details that are not compatible in this area. IE: slab on grade or basement plan when you are planning to build on a crawlspace.

Be sure the seller can modify your plans to match what you are building.

3. Read the fine print and ask questions before ordering a stock plan.
All stock plans we have seen have many disclaimers such as they do not guarantee engineering to meet codes in our area.
Engineering fees can be many times the cost of the plans.

4. Most of the time the stock plans do not exactly match what you want to build. This means modifications would be required to make it the home of your dreams, be sure the seller can modify the plan for you.
